Purpose of the role:

The Financial Analyst is an experienced contributor who can provide high quality financial insights, reporting, analysis, as well as support day to day contracting, accounting, procurement, and portfolio management related activities across the Platforms family to ensure strong and continued financial operations compliance of platforms.

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of Platforms Family financial and procurement activities.
  • Collaborate across Operations, Finance, Economics, FinOps, Procurement teams globally for continuous communication, engagement, and improvements of Platforms family financials and procurement operations.
  • Understand DD&T (Data, Digital & Technology) BU/BF strategy, and shared platforms roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with platform managers on platform budgeting activities.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Support annual, quarterly, and monthly budget reviews (actuals, forecast, accruals) in collaboration with Finance Business Partners using Financials Planning / Management solutions (i.e. Apptio One)
  • Support Annual and Mid-Range Planning in collaboration with Finance Business Partners.
  • Support procurement / contracts management processes including review, submission of Purchase Requisitions / Purchase Orders / Invoicing reconciliation using Procurement or Contract Management solutions (i.e. Ariba, PLAY, Invoicetrack, Calero).
  • Support Initiative Portfolio Management processes (i.e. Initiative, Demand, Capacity, etc.) including review, submission, and continuous updates for Platforms initiatives using Portfolio Management solutions (i.e. Apptio Targetprocess)
  • Support Service consumption modeling, forecasting, and utilization reporting processes across Platforms family using suite of tools (i.e. Apptio Cloudability)
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Platforms family leadership to ensure continuous review and approval lifecycle for contracts and procurement activities.
  • Serve as the financial and procurement representative for Platforms family team and provide advisory services to Platforms family leadership.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting, analysis, and presentation support as required.
  • Maintains controls and compliance practices

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with major in finance / accounting / economics or other related fields
  • 3-5 years of experience as Financial Analyst with demonstrated Procurement, Financial (budgeting / planning / analysis), and Portfolio management expertise, including accounting fundamentals familiarity
  • Proven analytical skills and experience with financial planning / reporting processes.
  • Proven experience with procurement and contract management processes.
  • Proven track record of getting things done in complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated written, presentation, and communication skills to effectively present financial, procurement, contractual data in reviews or reports.
  • Ability to challenge performance, drive fact-based business decisions, learning and solution-oriented.
  • Ability to operate as a flexible team player
  • Proven organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with financial, procurement, planning, and contract tool solutions (i.e. MS Office Suite, Power BI, SAP Ariba, PLAY, Apptio One / TargetProcess / Cloudability, Invoicetrack, Calero)

Preferred:

  • Experience working with virtual / Agile teams in different locations, aligning and adapting different work, culture, and communication styles.
  • Healthcare / life science / pharmaceutical industry experience desired.
  • Proven project management skills
